Even those working in small businesses are finding that they need to travel more and more frequently as the internet opens up a wider range of markets. This is putting an increasing strain on business travelers who often become stressed and fatigued at the constant need to be somewhere else. Regular travelers stay sane and focused by ensuring certain details are carried out to reduce the possibility of wasted trips.
Sometimes, baggage goes missing; that is an unfortunate fact of travel and whilst it is distressing enough on a family holiday, on a business trip it can be disastrous. The answer to this is to ensure you have everything you need in your hand luggage.
Although it means taking more on the plane it does mean that whatever might happen you will be prepared for your meeting. The key to business travel is to pack light and only include in the minimum you will need in your main luggage.
The easiest way to do this is to only take one pair of casual shoes and work pair, keep your work clothes to exactly what you need for the tip and likewise clothes for when you are on your private time. A little trick that flight attendants use is when they pack, to avoid folding their clothes up neatly but roll then into cylinders which compresses the clothing and reduces the number of creases. The last thing you want on a business trip is having clothes laundered because something was spilt on them which, can easily be avoided by wearing dark cloths which are able to absorb stains more easily.
With all this done, it should be quite easy to just get off the plane and use a couple of freshen-up wipes (those in travel packs) that will make you feel and smell better before you meet your customer. If you are only away for a couple of days make sure our cell phone and any other electronic equipment you’re taking with you is fully charged so you can continue working at your convenience.
Using your traveling time to get essential work done will mean that in the evenings you can take some time out to explore the city you’re staying in. Regular business travelers make these preparations before every trip to ensure the business side of it goes without a hitch.
