Cayman Airways was formed in 1968 as a subsidiary of the Costa Rican carrier LACSA but in 1977 became wholly government owned. From its base at George Town, Grand Cayman, inter-island services are undertaken using a Shorts SD330 whilst Boeing 737’s are used on the increasing number of scheduled services, particularly to the USA. In Florida, Miami and Tampa are served by frequent services whilst Houston and New York have recently been added to the network which also includes Kingsto, Jamaica.
