US Airways has announced what some passengers may feel will be a disastrous move…
It plans to stop showing films as in-flight entertainment from November 2008 because the systems, which weighs up to 500lb (227KG), results in the aircraft using more fuel.
The number of people paying $5US for a headset has reportedly fallen, making the in-flight film a less than profitable venture.
According to Travis Christ, VP for Sales and Marketing at US Airways, the cost of in-flight entertainment is simply too high.
Passengers are sure to give their opinion - US Airways could see passenger numbers falling, but of course could see an increase if perhaps any saving is passed on to them via cheaper ticket sales.

Well, America has voted. Obama is the new President Elect and McCain bowed out graciously.
But spare a thought for their trusted aircraft.
Throughout their campaigns both candidates have travelled around the country (and indeed the world) in 2 specially painted aircraft.
Obama travelled extensively in a North American Boeing 757-200. His 757 was painted in his election colours with the message “Change We Can Believe In”.
McCain preferred to travel in his Pace Airlines Boeing 737-4BJ carrying “Straight Talk Express - Reform, Prosperity, Peace” titles.
These aircraft will now be returned to their original owner and colours, and perhaps a much quieter and less interesting life!
