New Routes to USA and Canada

Mexican carrier ABC has announced plans to operate flights from Toluca, Mexico to Ontario, Canada and Houston, Texas.

The flights are expected to be operated as a daily, scheduled service and it is awaiting Government authorisation before it can proceed.

ABC are also hoping to operate from Mexico to San Antonio and Monterrey from June in 2009.

Established in March 2005 ABC currently connects 13 points within Mexico and recently added a service from Toluca to Guatemala.

 

Air Asia Launches new Route from KL to Guilin, China

Air Asia has added another Chinese destination from its base at Kuala Lupur’s Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) and will be the only carrier to provide a direct route between the two cities.

Flying from Kuala Lumpur to Liangjiang Airport in Guilin, the route is sure to be popular. Guilin, located in the nort-east of the Guagxi Region, is one of China’s most popular tourist destinations, having welcomed more than 13 million visitors in 2007.

Air Asia are well known for offering incredibly low prices to destinations accross Asia with a fleet of modern aircraft.

Five Airlines Grounded in Indonesia

Five differnet airlines have recently been grounded in Indonesia, by the Indonesian Transport Ministry.

The airlines are:

Helizona, SMAC, Asco Nusa Air, Tri-MG Intra Asia Airlines and Dirgantara.

A spokeman from the Indonesian Transport Ministry has said that the carriers had been moved to the transport ministry’s minimum safety ranking and have had their Air Operators Certificates (AOC) suspended.

They have been given three months to improve safty standards or face a permanent ban.
