The area has at times been called the home of all inclusive holidays due to the high proportion of that type of holiday package compared to other packages. It is still a matter of debate as to why the Caribbean is so popular for all inclusive holidays; in fact more are booked on this basis than those for bed and breakfast only. A number of people believe this popularity has been created as a method of bringing in more tourists to what is already undoubtedly a very busy group of islands; although there is no proof that there has ever been any need for this.

The chances are that this popularity is a result of the ease with which people can book the all inclusive Caribbean holidays; especially for people that like to know there are few other financial outlays to expect. These holidays can even be tailored to suit individual needs where they are designed to suit a particular type of visitor. For people that already have family on the islands, their requirements are minimal; there is no reason to book anything but the flight as they will have accommodation and meals already arranged with their family.

Although, the average visitor will find the all inclusive Caribbean holiday the least inexpensive. Many tour operators offering this facility will have options of cheaper transportation and accommodation than would otherwise be accessible to the independent traveler. However tempting, this type of arrangement does not suit everyone and there are still a number of people who remain die hard independent travelers. Even after all this time it is surprising how many people do not actually know what an all inclusive holiday actually includes.

All meals and any additional snacks for example will be included in the cost but that is not necessarily the case with other types of package available; in fact many types of board only include a continental breakfast as part of the arrangement. It is strange how many people still believe if they have booked a full board package that it actually means all inclusive!

A full board package will include breakfast lunch and supper, but not drinks, whilst an all inclusive Caribbean holiday package will include meals and drinks. Another distinction is in the vouchers for meals, entertainment and often trips which are presented by many hotels; whilst guests may receive a discount, they still have to pay. An all inclusive Caribbean holiday will usually include other activities in the near vicinity; dining at sister hotels or restaurants at no additional cost is quite normal and means you do not have to spend a great deal of money even if you leave the resort.

It is not until you actually travel internationally that you really appreciate the different types of cultures around the world. It is not as if you need to be rich anymore either as a good deal of the arrangements can be made online, and discounts can be had if you are willing to travel out of the normal peak seasons. You’ll find the cheapest fares in winter and if you’re traveling to Italy or Spain, this can be a plus and with mild winter temperatures you can be really adventurous and footloose. Think outside the box when booking accommodations so whether your trip is for a week or a month; look online for private housing or villas to rent on a daily or weekly basis.

There is no need to think that you will suffer without facilities like the internet, fully equipped kitchens, telephone either. There is nothing like having a breakfast when you are on holiday especially when you prepare it yourself and it gives you a chance to use fresh produce from a foreign country. The idea is that you save yourself time and money by using the facilities so you will be able to launder your clothes and sent greetings cards via email which will save time looking around stores and buying stamps, leaving you more time to explore. Experiencing a different culture is a great adventure and it’s the little things that really reach out and grab you; for example, European society is similar in many ways to American society but daily priorities are quite different.

Food is a much more drawn out event than our eat-and-run habit as meals are enjoyed slowly, seasoned with the friendship of your companions plus it is actually quite safe to go out at night in any major European city. It is also pleasant to walk and tour the area in which you are to get a real feel of the country you are in and not that portrayed mainly at the tourist areas. When in a foreign country a real international traveler will make sure that national and local dishes are eaten in typical restaurants or tavernas like Italian pizza or Greek Kleftiko. Most European cities have excellent transit systems that are inexpensive and just beg to be used if you are in the mood to explore a city which most international travelers are!

This of course means that to do this efficiently, it is good idea to carry everything you need for the trip in a carry on, which will make things simpler; no lost luggage or waiting around the luggage carousel at the airport. If you think about it, heavy items like toiletries can be purchased almost anywhere which makes packing for an extended break much easier as does fitting it into hand luggage. This is an exciting way to travel, light and easy and finding a new place to visit is as easy as searching on the internet.
